I’ve got an 04 sequoia with nearly 240,000 miles that I got for a steal of $1,000 with no problems so far and I was hoping to get some input from some other people. I was thinking about doing a 3 inch lift all around a move bumper and replace the front quarter panels with a tundra wide body kit as well as do some other mods. Is this a worthwhile build or should I not waste the money it’s gonna cost roughly 4-5k. I was also planning on eventually doing an engine swap when the motor inevitably dies, as of right now the motor runs great though and the body is nearly rust free. Just let me know what you guys think any input is much appreciated!

    Nearly rust free body?

What does the frame look like? Way more important than the body, and they’re prone to rust.

Frame isn’t too bad but definitely has some rusting as it’s been in the mountains driving on salted roads for the past few years.

1st Gen Sequoias are awesome. I cross shopped a 1st gen, GX470 and GX460 and even got to drive all three at one dealer. The GX470 was crossed off the list immediately and I ended up buying a GX460 only because I already had a full size truck. But I still regret not getting a 1st Gen.

So, long story short, yes I think you should build it if its in good shape.

Sorry to comment so late but that 4.7 will probably be the most reliable engine (if maintained) you will ever own. I'd worry more about tranmission/frame rust more than anything on the 1st gen sequoias. I've got a 02 of my own and love it. I'm thinking on doing the same thing with lifting it but not sure how much money I'll be in by the end of it. Have you decided on anything yet?
