So a year ago I picked up a Tacoma, but pulling my trailer was well sketchy. Taking the trailer out this weekend and should be a much better ride.
I do miss the blue on that Tacoma. And the steps. And the cover. Going to have to get all that now.

I used my 2006 Tacoma untill this year when I decided it was time to upgrade trucks, it’s definitely nice not having to worry about the weight

    Same here!

For the same reason, I traded my 2017 Tacoma for a 2018 Tundra.

    Excellent. Welcome aboard.

And gasoline is plentiful and inexpensive (relatively speaking). And to show you that we've BEEN LIED TO all these years............it's Labor Day weekend and the price of gas has dropped 25 cents in the last week and a half. So much for the traditional "well, the Labor Day travel weekend is coming up so expect to pay more for gas." Nice to uncouple stupid politics from gasoline. :dancingbacon:

Welcome fellow Tundra owner. My Grandpa went through this exact same thing as well. He retired and bought a 2019 Tacoma which has been his dream truck for a long time. He then decided to sell his camper van and buy a trailer for more comfortable extended trips. It only took 1 trip with the new trailer to realize the Taco didn't have what it takes. He since traded in for a 2019 Limited DC Tundra. It pulls the trailer like its not even back there. Night and day difference.

I kept my 2015 Taco, but added a 2018 Tundra for camper and work duty. As you said, the Taco could do it, but it was white knuckle at times. Felt like the trailer was pushing the truck around. With the tundra you almost forget the trailer is back there.

Welcome and congrats. I also just went from a 2016 Taco to the Tundra so we could have more options pulling an RV. How do you like the Imagine?

We love the Imagine. This one is set up kind of No Child option. It has a slide out, 2 recliners (in slide out) queen size bed, large kitchen area.

Do it. I know around here in a couple months is the RV show and we picked it up for a great price last year. They have different models. But I like that is is 4 season rated and walls are stout and very well insulated.

Nice truck, huge upgrade over the taco. You're gonna be very very happy with the performance and reliability, yeah it's a Toyota but these tundras seem to be next level solid

I know you weren't asking my opinion but I'll give it to you anyway lol. I would go with the Tacoma. But we have a Lexus to take when we travel. The Tacoma sucks on the Interstate IMO.

If I didn't have to tow anything I would probably stick with the Tacoma. Better for getting to my hiking places. Better gas milage.

    Great question!

There are so many great things I liked about the Tacoma. (2017 TRD Offroad Double cab). The only dislike was the goofy transmission.

But, to answer your question, I would absolutely pick the Tundra; it's my first full size truck, so I'm loving the extra room for my Two big dogs, and love the extra power of the 5.7 has (Getting supercharged soon).

As far as towing the travel trailer, the Tacoma was capable, but not a lot of buffer built in to make me feel confident. The Tundra bridges that gap. So it's been great to tow.
