Short Antennae

Hello eveyone.
Do you know of a short Antennae I can get?
I want it to be at least 10"
I want it to be metal. I hate those rubber plastic ones because when driving they flex in the wind and look crappy.

Please comrades help

 

I did a 7" Rydonair Antenna bought on Amazon for $21.99. The reception is great on both am and fm. It also does great going thru th car wash. That's my 2 cents.

 

Amazon has too many options. I got a short little 4 inch one. It actually works really well.

not suppose to bend in the wind but is bendable during a car wash. was thinking of going the 5" metal but this rubber one has a copper core supposedly for better reception for a short antenna. ordered the 4" version but reception is pretty weak at times.

 

I have one of the 50cal antennas. I know it's shorter than what you listed, but I love it. Looks great and does not bend while driving. Picks up am/fm here in San Antonio. Have not tried it in other areas, as I mostly use satellite radio.

I have had the Ronin one for about a month now. Sounds the same as stock. I got it on Amazon.

 

I had a 6” antenna that was worthless. Then I did the hidden antenna mod and my signal is as good as OEM.

 

+1 on the Ronin. Although I use satellite radio more often than not, the reception is still great.

 

I had this stubby. Range was terrible compared to factory.

 

Wth is the “hidden antenna mod”? Did you break it off in a car wash and say screw it?

 

This is interesting. I have the Ronin and while I'm really impressed with the quality the reception is crap. I had a different shorty on my sienna that was a little better but I've been looking at jumping the antenna to something else to pull signal.

 

13 inch rydonair...love it and it works great. I got a 13 inch because so it looks a little proportion to the size of the truck compared to the 7 inch

 

My whole stock antenna is mounted inside the fender now. Pretty simple job and cost less than $3.

 

Cool, how did you do that, can you post pics of it and how’s your reception?

 

I just pulled my antenna out and listen to xm. However, the hide would be worth a shot, let us know how you did it, other than the obvious “ Detach and ziptie/velcro to quarter panel “

 

I would like to know about this as well.

 

My reception is as good as before the mod. The only parts you need are 2 zip ties and an “assorted body trim retainer” from Autozone. Part number is 453140.

I couldn’t find the plastic plug used in the video but I found an equivalent at Autozone. Cost about $3.

Nice hack. Going to try something this afternoon.

 

It's German [high quality, functional]. I'm happy with the factory antenna, but if I ever replace it ...

Maybe, you could get buy with 6 3/4 inches. Doesn't bend in the wind, but will spring back, if it hits something solid [like a concrete block thrown at your truck at high speed, I guess].

Am I the only one who uses the factory antenna as an "oh shit" gauge for when creeping on a "lol 6.6 height, come on through buddy, we pinky promise we measured it" bar?

 

Thanks might try it. At first I hated the antenna then it grew on me since I didn't see any good options. This is a simple that works.

Has anyone tried to install a sequoia antenna or is the roof mountws fin only for GPS and sat radio?

 

How does the "Anti-theft" work on the Ronin? How do you get it off?

 

It just has some thread locker on it. I'm sure you just need to use more than hand grip to get it back out.
