Folks still listen to satellite radio? It took about two days of the trail subscription in my new truck to remember why I got rid of it years ago.

I still do for when I get sick of the YouTube music list, it's only $5 a month so it's fairly reasonable.

$5/month? That's a lot better than the offer they sent me when my trail subscription was done. Either way, I'm not a sports or news radio type, so I was just there for the music. I was into satellite radio early, and had both XM and Sirius receivers. Sirius was way better back in the day (I really miss Buzzsaw), but after the merger it just became more talking in between fairly limited playlists (and no Buzzsaw). Once we had vehicles with iPod hookups, SD card slots, plus bluetooth from the phone we stopped renewing the satellite radio.

Yeah if you tell them that the XM doesn't really matter to you and that it's only worth $5 a month to you they will give you a pre-paid 6 or 12-month "perpetual re-trial". apparently you can do this indefinitely. Otherwise you just cancel and sign up again with one of their 6-month packages that are also only $5 a month.

Yeah that's how I rolled until they offered me a $5-6/mo deal

And Fitz, I'm like you, I only signed up because they promised me commercial-free music as that's all I care to listen to. Unfortunately the don't consider the never-ending commercials for XM radio as actual commercials. It's a bit draining. I don't know why someone insists on serving me a commercial about a station I am already currently listening to. It makes no sense... Nevertheless, i still use it as a backup and every now and then find some new artists I haven't heard of. Sorry Texasrho, we kind of got your thread off track

All good. XM radio is one of the guilty pleasures I want in my next head unit upgrade
