I've got a set of wheels and tires from my truck I'm wanting to sell and am hoping to post them on eBay or offer shipping on other forums in order to reach a wider audience. Most wheel/tire ads on eBay offer a flat shipping rate of somewhere between $250-$300. I could do that, but don't want to get burned and want to be fair.

Anyone else shipped wheels and tires much or have any advice?

    My main concerns are:
    • Charging a fair shipping price as I do not know where they are going until someone buys them.
    • How is the best way to wrap/package them? (Ship them loose, palletize with shrink wrap, something else?)
    • Do I just take them and drop them off at my local freight company? Need to consider liftgate, etc?

    Any advice appreciated.

i had to return a used tire for my wife’s car that had a puncture. Printed a shipping label, taped the crap out of it directly to tire. Rolled it into fedex and they gladly took it, no questions. That’s all I know....

Cut some cardboard to go on both sides of the wheel. Then plastic wrap (saran wrap stuff) over that with some tape. Make sure they label them correctly when you ship - 4 labels with tracking number. 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc.
