Picked up 1/2 ton of pea gravel for a buddies landscaping job this morning. I laughed when watching the bed start to squat when they loaded it in. First time hauling anything significantly heavy, definitely maxed out the haul capacity.

my new OME leafs better live through this.

Based on the squat I'd say that's more like 1500lbs.

The landscape supplier here will deliver in town for $25. Well worth the money having it dumped. :D

I pick up a 1/2 yard of 3/4 down or 1/4 down crushed granite and limestone all the time. I pick up full yard or topsoil.

I'm only about 5km from our landscaping supplier. I get some squat on my factory setup but don't think it's an issue. When I need 4+y, I have it delivered, otherwise I drive back and forth picking up 1/2y at a time.

Online stats show most stone weighs 2200-2700lbs per full yard.

Came out to be 1360lbs. Wasn’t too pleased about that - w/ me & gear in the chest that’s in my bed, I was over capacity by a few hundred pounds.

25 bucks is awesome for a delivery. I’d choose that all day long. We needed 4x4 where the fire pit is, not sure if they would have done that.

I was surprised how little I felt it back there. Acceleration was obviously hampered, but besides that the truck handled it well. Thank God I didn’t have to emergency brake.

Used to sometimes get a ton of coal on my 04 once in awhile. It squatted but the v8 didn't
know it was there. Coals hard to judge when it's coming out of a chute. Anyhow I had another leaf added and never looked back. Hauled for 15 yrs like that. No damage ever except 1 broken leaf many years ago.

That pic you quoted is empty. The squat is in 1st post.

Edit: not a horrible squat, no. But overloaded, yes.

Takes more than double that to hit the bumps. :bananadead: Being over the sticker a few hundred pounds is nothing to worry about.
