    Hey guys,

I wanted to try and solicit any responses to see if anyone has personally installed one of these. I just bought this thinking it would be a good idea so I can go anywhere without the key. I did see previous threads either talking about how former Ford owners either miss this feature or had it dealer installed on a new vehicle. I will be trying to install this once my truck comes back from the collision repair shop and really only had a couple questions on the install.

Wait what?!?!?!?! Toyota offers that? Do you have a link or part number?
Sorry I can't help you, but definitely following this to see how your install goes!

Yeah, seems to have been announced sometime late last year. For anyone out there that's interested in any other South East Toyota "mods", I use this website:

    http://mobile.accessories.setbuyatoyota.com/Home/List

You can click through the links to see all the available options for most of their Toyota accessories, i.e. center console wireless charger.

Edit: The SET part number I have for the keypad is KP1000.

Every time I think my wishlist is finally complete (at least for the next few months) someone goes and posts something really neat the next day. This is an awesome find especially for anyone with kids or who is active. Pair this with a console safe and you can leave the keys in the truck while you go rafting

That's exactly my reason behind getting this. You read my mind as I also have the center console safe.

Also, to anyone reading, if you have this installed, please let me know what year/trim your vehicle is as I'm trying to verify the wiring colors for my 2017 1794. I have a copy of the digital install guide but was made for a 2020.

Hey! Who you calling an idiot?! I resemble that remark.

Yup, looked through it. And the RAV4 one. And the Tacoma one. And the Camry one.

Yeah, I saw that. Made me curious to see what changed in the cabling between previous models up to 2019 or if that is just another CYA response from a manufacturer (SET).

Maybe it gets connected to the keyless entry.

Unfortunately, no. I am not in the SET/GST region and can not order those parts.

Yeah, good point. I would verify at least with the cable pinning against the install instructions but my truck is still in the shop. Worst case scenario, I guess I'll sell the kit to someone who has the latest model years.

Edit: The more and more I think about it, the instructions just state to piggyback on the lock/unlock and power and ground connections. I wouldn't see the need to have the keyless entry as mandatory.

Does this work even if you leave the wireless key fob in the truck? If I leave one fob in the truck, it won't allow me to lock it by touching the handle but pushing the lock button on the other fob does lock the truck.

Hey! This is my thread, so I ask the questions here!

Just kidding, but I have no clue since I have a 2017, but I hope someone here can answer that for you. The fact that it's initially made for 2019 and up makes me think it should be compatible with that.

Only thing I heard that isn't helpful is the fact that the touchpad doesn't work if the ignition is turned to "on." It would be great to use this on my 2019 to be able to leave the truck running with keys inside, but exit the vehicle and lock it.

If you have push button start, you have to put the remote in standby, by holding lock and press unlock twice (it will blink four times), then you can lock it inside.

I "thumbed" through the Tundra install guide and it didn't appear there was anything that wouldn't work on older models without push start... that said, someone else is free to be the guinea pig :)
