Wow. Very impressive at keeping intrusion out of the passenger compartment.

I'm not sure I would not say that truck took the hit well. The tire is almost into the cab. That driver has severe leg injuries I'm sure. That being said, maybe this is as good as one could expect with that sort of crash. Knowing the speed would help.

That is basically equivalent to the front overlap test the Tundra failed.

Not sure. Our local news stations love reporting on the "Shock & Aw" but are often short on details.

It is extremely sad! It was a very nasty day weather wise, I was also told his tires were bald. Lack of experience as well as poor vehicle maintenance, and none of the four were wearing seatbelts

It's not actually. The dash looks like it may have pinned the driver's legs.

The front 6 feet of the truck is gone and you’re complaining because the dash got knocked off the firewall? The delta v for this impact was enormous. I look at accidents for a living and I’ve seen soooo much worse. In my opinion, the seat that looks like it failed is a bigger problem than anything.

Ok broheim. No need to validate yourself to me aggressively. I was making an observation. I sure wouldn't want ANYTHING pinning me to ANYWHERE in an accident regardless. Seat, dash, steering wheel, whatever. That shit better stay put.

Not sure what you interpreted as aggressive. Just pointing out this was a huge impact and there is room to survive in the passenger compartment (a-pillar did not collapse) despite the absolute carnage in front of the firewall. PSA, no car will do what you're asking for in a collision of this magnitude and if it did the energy transferred to your body would kill you.
How does that Tundra look compared to this F150?

Ok bro. I was stating that I didn't want anything to pin me. That is all. There are also plenty of vehicles that do a better job of keeping the passenger compartment as intact as possible.

This is sarcastically aggressive. It's not "Knocked off the firewall" The firewall is pushed in and the dash followed. It's not just hanging off. The front door frame is inside the cab, the a pillar is pushed in, by the looks of the truck and the lack of a door, the Tundra driver was the one that needed to get extracted.

Please see iihs testing summary below. Yes, it's a newer model, but we all know it's the same truck.

I’d rather be in the Tundra. Both Ram and Ford rate Poor in structure/safety cage while the Tundra is rated Good.

I already put this link in a previous post, but you may have missed it, so here it is again. https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/Toyota/tundra-extended-cab-pickup/2019

please see the "Small overlap front: driver-side" section. You will see that the area i am talking about between the dash and seat is a concern for the IIHS. It's also rated POOR for this area of intrusion.

Man, people sure do get sensitive if you dare mention anything negative about the Tundra. It's a truck guys, not a God.

It failed the overlap test and other trucks did better. That is a fact.

I am not an expert and sure that there may be some concerning issues with the Tundra involved in this collision. I am not sure how the other 1/2 ton's out there would have done.

This was a very violent "Head On" collision. I would be very surprised if anyone in any 1/2 ton would have walked away uninjured. After seeing the front end of that Tundra, I am pleasantly surprised that the frame didn't buckle in the middle causing the bed to crumple onto the cab.
