I bought a hood bulge from a guy on facebook marketplace last night. Looked fine when I bought it, but once I got it on my truck last night I noticed it has some pretty serious warping. Anyone have ideas on what I can do to remedy this?

He didn't mention anything about this in the listing... Would you just ask the guy for your money back?

    Alot of them
Start loosening those 3 mounting bolts and see if it gets better. They look to be overtightened.

Does it look like that when it is off the vehicle?

I think there is more to it than tightening or loosening bolts.
It looks warped and doesn't even come close to matching the paint.

If you bought a new one, at least it wouldn't be warped, but the paint match might be a little off.
Not as off as what you have now..

You could also try using the clips from your old paint bulge.
It looks like the clips are holding in too tightly, they may be the wrong clips...

    Good luck..

good thought, but that's not it. I took the bulge completely off and it's still warped. I didn't realize it when I met this guy in a Walmart parking lot to buy it last night...

    I agree...

I bought an OEM when my original hood bulge ( when I did my TRD Pro grille) kept popping out.
    Changing the clips didn't help.

It fit great but the color was a little off..
A lot of the appearance of color is light reflection.

God damn, did the guy live on planet Mars?

You may try to heat it up a little with a heat gun and flatten it out.
But Toyota paint is very delicate.

Probably have to go with an OEM part.
    Sorry that happened to you..

Maybe that’s why he was getting rid of it. Can’t hurt to reach out to him. Worst he could say is no.

Google the part number and see the prices with shipping.
A closer dealer may have cheaper shipping..
Make sure the part number matches, sometimes in a google search it will show a part with a different color than what you need.
The last 2 digits are the paint color.

You could try to see if your dealer will match an internet price, but mine won't.

Seller is giving me my money back, so I can’t be upset about it! Looks like I’ll have to fork up $250 + shipping for an OEM bulge. Crazy!
