Has anyone flush-mounted one of the Scosche Magicmounts for your phone to your dash? I'm thinking somewhere between the 2wd/4wd dial and the vent- but I'm curious how it looks mounted there. Thanks.

Awesome, thank you. Looks like it fits there pretty well.

It fit great. Cleaned the area good and hasn't come off. Been on for 2 years now. Never had a problem with the phone falling off or anything.

Have the same. Almost in the same exact location. I mount my tablet on it and it holds firm.

I'm thinking about flush mounting it on mine. Is yours mounted flush or does it mount via the little plastic bracket like this one does?

Here is my solution. It puts the phone closest to eye level without blocking your field of view. It is very strong/stable and will hold my phone or tablet without movement, while allowing the ability to adjust the angle a fair amount.. It is easily installed or removed without damage to dash. And it does not block the use of a vent. Only downside is that it is a bit expensive.

What kind of a phone do you have? Do you think it can hold the bigger phones like a Samsung S23 Ultra?

This is exactly what I had on my 2018, and I am planning on doing the same on the 2022. It worked great.
At first I had it mounted a couple inches higher, but that placed the phone's camera right in front of the air vent, which is not good when you run the heater.
Where it is shown in the picture worked perfect.

The only downside of this (and I am also in Florida so it doesn't happen much, but for others in colder climates) is when you run the heat then you blow that directly on the phone which is not good.
Just have to keep that in mind and put it elsewhere the 3 days a year we run heat.

I had one and phone kept falling off, def not worth it so I went with the Rago dash mount with Ram phone mounts, so much better!

Nah, not at all. The vent is fully closed when the phone is on it. And the iPhone has a built-in thermal shutdown which has never been triggered. The phone gets a little warm, but it ain't made out of butter.

I have a S22+ and it holds it solidly, as it does my Galaxy tablet.

Personally, IDGAF about the phone, but I do not want to eliminate one vent from providing me with heat or cooling.

I appreciate everyone's replies. I ended up going with the flush mounted version that works with my Magsafe phone and case.

Since it's a flush mounted version, I didn't have the option of mounting it on the lower portion (right above the 2wd/4wd switch), as the phone would interfere with that switch.

The one negative is that I'll have to close that one vent when the heater's on. But overall, I feel good with this clean and easy option. Seems to have plenty of strength too.

So? Only two of them are designed to hit the driver perfectly in the upper torso/face. Why would I give up one of these for an inferior phone mount? TEHO

Can you turn the phone sideways when the heat is on? It might be enough to get it out of the way of the vent.

Yes, that's a good point. If you do that, it's not 100% clear of the vent, but pretty dang close. And you can point the vent away from the small part that is covering it.
