So I figured the kids are off
From school let’s hit up the mountains for some snow fun. (SoCal) we don’t get to see snow out here we need to drive to it. Anyway I go up to this mountain called mount baldy. It looked like it got a good amount of snow. So we go up there pretty early to beat the traffic. It was looking good than once we his the “town area” up there it was a lot of traffic but still no snow so with everyone I keep on truckin up the mountain. Finally we start to see some snow on the sides of the roads and people start to park illegally right off the sides but it was hardly anything to play with the good stuff was higher up if we wanted any chance of sledding. Still a bunch of people going up the road and so many people parked along the road as well. I start seeing people putting chains on. So that’s when I said ok I need to turn around I wasn’t prepared for chains. I make a u turn well a 3 . Turn and the truck starts sliding I hit some ice. Mind you I’m a Cali girl that has very very little experience with any snow. I got a guy in an Acura about 6’ from me slipping and spinning my tires start spinning and I’m slowly sliding and I have hardly any room with the cars parked on the side of the road and me with my mud tires and 2wd on ice. I think I was inches away from a parked Tacoma as I’m sliding but by some grace of God or some crazy luck I don’t know I got traction back on the road with hitting anyone or being hit. That for me was SO damn scary! Anyone else experience something like that ? My heart was pumping!!! And we never went up to the snow lol
