Hey all. Had a couples Tundras, now have an 08 5.7 Sequoia. Have a question about bypassing the SAIS. I know it’s a tundra board but the sequoia-specific forums are not nearly as busy.

Anyone have experience with the Gen2 Hewitt SAIS kit and installing it in stages? I’ve got one coming today after throwing P2443 and P2442 in my truck at the same time and going into limp mode. I used my reader to clear it and the truck is running fine, but I’m still installing it later. No permanent or pending codes leftover so I don’t know if the stuck open code was a fluke. I had been running with the stuck closed P2443 code for weeks without an issue. I had cleared the stuck closed code once which lasted like a week, then it came back.

The problem is that I only have time for the electrical part of it tonight, then I need the truck tomorrow morning. Anyone do the electrical part first and save the plates for another day? Or am I playing with fire here? I have no idea why I was getting a stuck open and stuck closed code simultaneously at the same bank. I don’t know if it’s possible that it was stuck closed, then “unstuck” itself and stuck open a bit too long on one start, but the truck is running fine.

Oh, and 3/4 of my exhaust tube studs are rusted. Gotta love living in a place close to the beach that still gets snow with salted roads.

    Thanks
