Removed my unpainted black Rock Warrior grille so that I can paint the outer surround white. Does anyone have any tips for getting the middle insert outRW grille.jpg RW grille closeup.jpg without breaking these tabs?

You can see how they are attached. Just have to be carful, apply pressure to separate the two panels, and pry away on them one at a time. If loose enough you can use your thumb, or you may need to pry with a screwdriver if the are super tight

    ^^ What he said..
It would probably be easier for 2 people to do it.
One to release the tabs and one to pull them apart..

Thanks guys. I can see how they are attached and started with a screwdriver but it was digging into the plastic - very concerned about breaking the tabs. I'll get another person to help.

Edit: Was able to get the insert out. Will continue with the sanding, primer, sanding, paint, clear coat but so many tabs broke that it is likely a waste of time and will not reinstall properly. Not a fan of plastic tabs today.

Be glad you have a 2013.
The 2014 & ^ are even more of a bitch to take apart without breaking the clips..
