I have a 2022 tundra and it’s showing rust corrosion on passenger side roof edge. Any one else have the same issue? And is it covered under warranty?

I had a similar event (much worse) on a two year old 4Runner. The dealership painted above my windshield, all the door sills, and around the back gate. Toyota did it all free of charge which was nice. But after finding more bad rust that required the body being removed from the frame, I cut my loses and traded it in. So more for a Japanese made truck…

Live in a hail area? Perhaps the roof was repaired and painted before you took possession…if so the dealer is on the hook.
ETA And yes, still under warranty. Unless they try to put it on a sloppy windshield replacement if you’ve had one done.

I would ask the dealer about prior damage. Before my Tundra arrived it was delayed for a bit in the rail yard due to a hail storm that damaged a bunch of vehicles. Toyota was taking inventory and fixing the damaged ones. The dealer assured me that mine was not damaged. I hope that is the truth.

I did have the windshield replaced by Toyota. I’m just afraid they’ll put the blame on me.

My truck was delayed coming from Texas. Maybe my truck was one of the damaged vehicles.

that is the first thing I thought of, that is typical windshield replacement damage there. Common years ago but newer tech makes this damage rare nowadays. 100% whoever replaced that’s windshields fault, good luck getting it fixed right so it doesn’t come back.

Zero reason you are at fault for this. No way.

FWIW, a bunch of brand new vehicles get damaged prior to delivery. Not necessarily hail, but numerous types of damages. Good luck getting it corrected!

Windshield replacement is almost always the cause of rust in that area. To properly stop the rust the windshield needs to removed, rust removed and metal treated to prevent rust from returning. Then repainted and windshield reinstalled. If it is not done this way the rust will likely return. Toyota should pay for the entire bill because they replaced the windshield.
