Several months I was backing up my truck and didn't pay attention well enough that I scratched a small area on the truck. It a paint chip along the rear wheel arch. What's the best recommendation to prevent rust? Thanks in advance!

You'd have to get on it as soon as it happens. This can be repaired really easily.
Sooner you do it, the better. Once repaired properly you would never worry about that spot again.
Keep touch up paint, so any rock chips etc you can brush over right away.

Sandpaper, primer, and paint. You can get custom made rattle cans easily nowadays that will match. Then after it cures, fender flares with PPF behind them. Nice low profile flares look so much better too.
