So I'm in the process still of finding a 2.5 gen tundra and came across one that spent about 20k miles in Saskatchewan, Canada and is now in Idaho. I'm down in the southwest so currently working with dealer to get more pics but I've got video screenshots. Curious your guys thoughts? I'm more or less just trying to avoid any foreseeable rust issues and I know they get quite a bit of snow up in Saskatchewan. Anyone from that region or that has familiarity with the area their above is greatly appreciated. Vehicle only has 35k miles on it. It's a 2020 Tundra. I appreciate all your guys help. Had it happen to me once with a car so trying to avoid it a second time and doing my due diligence

I appreciate you all. I'm probably being a bit over paranoid. Just trying not to have the same thing happen twice

That good of a deal vs something local? Wont this be a Canadian version with a different speedo/odometer?

Canadian trucks are always sus here since they often spent time in winter salt then ship to WA/OR/ID.

Yeah that's what happened with this one. Got shipped to ID now. That's what my worries were. I just haven't been able to really find anything local with low mileage. I know it'll be difficult in general

I'm always suspect that they are beat to death on dirt roads or sat idling for hours and hours on end. That said, It looks clean (check for dirt packed into the undercarriage) and at 20K miles I'd guess it was a lease or something.

Do you have the Carfax? Sometimes that will fill in a lot of gaps.

Just be patient, and look closer to home. 60 or 80k on the odometer just means someone else took the depreciation.

That's what I'm leaning. May have found one in Vegas that's a 2020 with only 55k miles on it.

I did look at the carfax and looked clean but again even with all the clean service records you don't know what kinda driving was done or how much of a beating underneath it took. Closer to home may be my best bet and hopefully I can find something around 50k miles if I'm lucky

Look at the paint on the hitch safety chain loops for frequent towing signs, look at rubber pad on brake pedal for wear as a heavily city driven truck, how is the driver door alignment, latch wear, and seat bolster? Dirty seat belt? There are ways to check things out. Check for cam tower oil leaks, missing rubber seal on the radiator cap, signs of valley plate coolant leak, was it backed into water launching boat(s), water in rear end, etc. Have the various drain and fill plugs been wrenched on? Much can be seen if one looks closely.

OP these trucks are extremely robust and overbuilt. If you find one with a clean carfax and good, complete service records, and a reasonable amount of mileage on it, I wouldn't overthink it and sweat the small stuff (that it was driven hard or beat on). Many folks beat on these trucks for years and have little to no problems

Saskatchewan used next to nothing for salt on the highways. Think of it like a northern Colorado. The truck looks very clean and I wouldn’t be afraid of it in the least.
