Any suggestions for a brand name that will last for a good while or a manufacturer to look for ?

It all depends on what you want. If your not needing off road protection, you should look at AMP power steps. I have them and they are like a full running board but tuck up nice and neat.

My truck came with the stock tubes, but I am eyeing the Go Rhino running platforms.

There are just a ton of options and styles. Bar types are usually less expensive. You can score take offs for $50-150 bucks and new they are 200 on up. The flat type steps like RB20 styles can 250-500 or so then you get into actual sliders which offer protection and cost more...on up to powered steps that drop down when you open the door for 800-1200.

Do a search of truck steps on Amazon for your truck and you will get 100s of choices.

The Amp power steps are really cool but expensive.

I went with Iconics from Realtruck.com
Have not installed them yet. $320.00 for running boards. The dealer ship wanted $800.00 installed for OEM
