Hey guys have a question on running boards/sliders. So far all the running boards/side steps I’ve found mount to the body of the truck (TYger, nfab etc.) and only ones that mount to the frame are sliders which are significantly more expensive. My question is, is there any downside to mounting running boards/side steps to the body flange? Wear overtime vs mounting something to the frame? I know sliders have a different purpose and what not and I don’t plan on doing any crazy rock crawling just wondering if I’ll run into any trouble or issues down the road with mounting something like the tygers. Thanks for the help.

The factory running boards or tube style nerf bars mount to the cab as you described and are rated at 450lbs. Shouldn’t be an issue.

    Unless you’re 800 lbs, no.
