Speakers, amp, subs, floorboard lights...and the little step thing under the bumper

I want some light on my running boards/ground beneath them...top consideration light output and quality of the unit, second is courtesy splice-ability, so it'll fade on/off with unlock/lock. Third is sequential turn signal.

I saw OPT7 a lot in the search, but also saw problems...they still best choice, or is there better?

What I wish is Diode Dynamics Rock Lights could be powered for courtesy, while holding RGB if selected...I'd mount them for the running boards and set courtesy lights to what I want...hopefully without making it look like a disco or the weird full techno club car washes...anybody know if that's possible, without being Stephen Hawkings or something?
