Rough Shifts 2024 Sequoia

I recently purchased a 2024 Sequoia. I only have 100 miles on it but started to notice when coming to a stop on a hill or slowly accelerating it seems to shift abruptly and not as smooth as I remember during the test drive. I used to have a 2017 highlander so the transmission was very smooth and never seemed to jump between gears. Is this normal for one of these transmissions?

 

Hybrid right? You might be noticing the change between regenerative braking and hydraulic? And the changes between electric operation and the engine kicking on?

 

Yes it’s a hybrid. When accelerating you can’t tell any difference in hybrid vs the engine…I watch the max gauge and listen for the engine and it’s not happening there. On accelerating slow it’s when the engine is engaged.


For slowing down, engine is off, but it’s definitely a shift of the transmission. I hold the brakes at a constant pressure and you still feel a rough shift. Not sure if the tundras with the max system do that as well?
