This can’t be a common event.
Yesterday while accidentally laundering my keys with the security fob, the truck went into alarm mode. I used the door key to open drivers side and punch the unlock button. All seemed fine. I dried the fob and it works fine. This morning I used the key to unlock again. As soon as I started it the check engine light came on. I drove about 15 miles and the truck ran so roughly under any load that the whole thing shook.
I parked and went to breakfast for an hour or so. This time I unlocked using the fob and the error was cleared and ran smoothly.
Could there be some secret connection between the security system and the computer?
