I know, I know Rough Country

    I'll make this quick:

Lifting 2nd gen truck for 35s, looked into Old Man Emu coilovers, worried about UCA... RC lift comes with UCA and 3.5" suspension lift, very affordable (trying to make this cheap)

RC Lift (picture attached) "3.5IN TOYOTA BOLT-ON LIFT KIT (07-21 TUNDRA 2WD/4WD)"

Anyone have this lift? Any suggestions? I've heard a couple good things about RC in the past so I'm holding out hope

I like the OME, but everything I would need to get is just going to be so dang expensive, especially if I end up needed UCA after I take it to get aligned

Joe, you did your homework and know that this is a basic entry spacer lift, economical, budget friendly, and will ride that predictable...Plenty of threads on this specific lift, pros-cons....
    Good luck.

I have that exact lift on my truck and I love it. I’ve heard all of the “Great Value” brand jokes, but my truck isn’t a desert runner or a rock crawler. I needed to get the truck high enough to get through logging and field roads while hunting in TN. It rides better than my wore out factory coil overs. The reviews on the rough country site are spot on as far as I’m concerned. I am also aware that OME makes quality stuff. Really comes down to personal preference. Hope this helps and good luck with your decision.

I have put about 2500 miles on the lift so far. It leaves no rake in the truck, so that may be something to consider.

I went with a 275/65r20 (34x11). I could have gone 35s but I wasn’t sure about rubbing since I was keeping the stock tss wheels. Any wider on those wheels and I’d probably need spacers to clear UCAs.

Good to know, I have the stock 18" 4x4 wheels, with a 1.5" spacer, I'd like to do a 35x12.5 but I'll have to look into it some more because ideally I'd rather not rub

I had this lift installed a month ago, the front full struts with the v2 rear shocks. Components seem good quality, greaseable UCA…so far happy with everything. Nice planted ride on the street vs oem and room for 35s.

I know RC gets some serious online hate, I think it stems from 10ish years ago when their shocks were garbage.

thats what I've heard, but just trying to make sure before clicking the order button, are you running true 35s?

Hard to argue with a lifetime warranty on quality components at an affordable price.

I had the same setup and both of the rear bushing broke after 3 years. One day driving through the “smooth” street of Houston I hit a pot hole and one of the rear shock fell off. Idk what your budget is but my advise is buy it nice or buy it twice.

35x12.5r18 bf Ko2. I have them mounted on method 18x9 +25 offset. You’ll rub the plastic liners but they can pushed back easily…no bmc required either with that offset.

I think it was the n3 shocks. This forum is a huge supporter of toytec. They might be in your range if you are looking for a new kit, I would go that route rather than rr but that is my two cent with experienced with rr

Ya the n3 is the made in China. With the front struts in this kit that is all you can get. I went with the v2 in the rear, they are made in Thailand, questionable but they look impressive quality. The rest of the components are USA made.

I’d say the shocks are “possibly” the weak point in the kit. But RC is a huge brand and there are many people running this setup. Warranty is 3 yrs. I have no long term review but so far I am happy with the kit.

My old Sierra had the made in Mexico RC shocks about 10 years ago and all four blew in like 6 months. Luckily they don’t sell those anymore! The rest of the kit was good so that’s why I gave them another shot.

You think I could keep my bilstein 5100s in the rear and put the lift blocks on?

Definitely could do that. I had 5100s toytec on my FJ. Do These RC V2 shocks are really impressive so far. You’ll be happy with the whole kit. It’s too bad you can only get the N3 assembly in the front, but so far so good.

Your predicament has nothing to do with shock brand. That's classic installer quality.
Shocks falling off during driving is pretty much someone not doing their installing homework.

I decided to get the icon 1.5 leaf pack (51200) and the +1 CB shackles instead of the lift block. I like the ride. Way nicer than stock. I went with the coilovers up front and n3 shocks.
