I'm trying to get the "temporary" block Lift\Level kit I threw on a while back upgraded(3/1). I was looking into the Rough Country 3.5" lift/level, with Vertex front and rear. Then instead of the rear block, go with the Camburg Shackles.

    Does this work?

I routinely drive on unimproved roads, washboards and rutted roads to my parents (Santa Cruz Mountains). About 45 min on dirt each way. Towing a travel trailer less often (with weight distribution hitch). And dirt bikes and hauling stuff in the back often. This is a trucks truck, not a showroom level sparkler. I'm looking to Cadillac the rough roads a bit more, and not have block lifts.

With Vertex front and rear. (~$2279)

    Camburg Shackles 1.5" ($200)

    Suggestions or info?

I went with the RC 3.5 kit, but made some adjustments. I have the coilovers, UCAs, diff drop kit, rear N3 shocks, ICON 1.5 inch rear leaf pack, coachbuilder +1 shackles. Love the look and feel.

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
I've never had any RoughCountry products personally, but when I asked the local 4x4 shop about them, they just stared at me and shook their head "no". When I enquired why, was told the steel was lightweight and meant for mall crawlers. Just their opinion, ymmv.

I'm mostly small crawling until the fall when I'll be traveling across the country towing a travel trailer and likely getting to do some off-roading, fishing and hunting.

I've heard some very good things about the vertex coilovers from a buddy that works at an offroad shop, and from another buddy who drives a tundra pretty harshly; they both said the vertex RC coilovers were good (in their opinion) and that they didn't seem cheaply made like the N3

And also yes, what you're doing is possible, I was looking into the same lift you're thinking of, but this is what I went with instead:

Eibach Pro Truck Stage 1 Coilovers and Bilstein 5100s in the rear (already had 5100s in the front but weren't tall enough) and then I added a rear add a leaf from Torch Off Road and so far I really like the feel, haven't been able to hit any serious off roading yet, but daily driving is super smooth. I also took the sway bar off before throwing on the Eibach Coilovers and that has greatly improved the feel as well

Side note: Also running Coachbuilder shims in the front (2 driver, 1 passenger)
