Just bought this truck a month ago. Didn't think to check the roof. Yesterday while cleaning the windshield noticed two small rust spots near where the roof meets the glass... very disappointed as this is a 2012.... any advice/wisdom on dealing with this?

I don't have any of the tools or know how to do any kind of major patch job and the fact that it's so close to the windshield makes me think it would be expensive to take it to a body shop. But I'd like to stop this before it spreads.

It’s just a windshield, it can be removed and reset, not exactly like removing the exhaust manifold to change the starter. Your problem sucks, but could be much worse.

Similar here. Several places on the line but not as deep. It's starting to bug me. I'm think about taking it to a body shop and get that are touched. No need to shoot the entire panel because it's not in your vision line

DIY touch-up: Mask off the glass well to protect it. Grind out the rust. Sand with 100 grit to prep and feather the edges. Primer. Basecoat. Clear.
