Pretty good actor as well.
I'm not sure how I found this movie last year, but I watched it.
I don't regret it, a bit cheesy, but it was 1984..

Kris Kristofferson, the singer and songwriter whose literary yet plain-spoken compositions infused country music with rarely heard candor and depth, and who later had a successful second career in movies, died at his home on Maui, Hawaii, on Saturday. He was 88.

Mr. Kristofferson’s breakthrough as a songwriter came with “For the Good Times,” a bittersweet ballad that topped the country chart and reached the Top 40 on the pop chart for Ray Price in 1970. His “Sunday Morning Coming Down” became a No. 1 country hit for his friend and mentor Johnny Cash later that year.



Mr. Kristofferson is survived by Lisa (Meyers) Kristofferson, his wife of over 40 years; their sons, Jesse, Jody, Johnny and Blake; and a daughter, Kelly Marie; a son, Kris, and daughter, Tracy, from his marriage to Ms. Beer; and a daughter, Casey, from his marriage to Ms. Coolidge; and seven grandchildren.

I grew up listening to Kristofferson. I can only say that the two most influential musicians of my life
have passed now. Kristofferson and Lightfoot.

His playing days effort shouldn't keep him out, but gambling on his own team as a manager is verboten. I personally think he should get in.

 

At least he be on his own team to win. If he’d bet on them to lose, and they did lose, that would be problematic.

 

Just keep in mind it was NEVER proven it was the OPINION of the Commissioner at that time. Hopefully they will change that and vote him in.

 

Pete publicly admitted that he bet on baseball but never against the Reds in 2004.

It's really no different than any sports professional, athlete, soldier, first responder, etc. does each and every day they put the uniform on... they go to work expecting to and 'playing' to WIN! Unfortunately, he also expressed his expectations in a way that wasn't allowed, and he's paid for it.

It's time to allow the man's exceptional performance throughout the course of his career to be recognized.
