    Hi All,
Just got a new to me 2018 tundra5.7 sr5 crew max, fav.
Just got all fluids changed and am learning the truck.
Runs absolutely fine with one exception.
On cold days, first start in morning it sort of stumbles and I get a super rich smelling bluish cloud out of exhaust. I put a new Napa pvc valve in gave it a new engine filter etc.
Once started cloud clears and it runs fine. Only stumbling is for about 3-4 seconds till it varooms normally.
Doesn’t have any antifreeze smell, just rich gas/oil.
I’m checking fluid levels to see if I may have extreme oil consumption or head gasket antifreeze leak.
Any thoughts are appreciated as I’m sure this is not new.
I do have a 12 mo warranty on it now down to 11!

It is. Only run regular 87 octane in it.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
??? Do you know if the previous owner had it "tuned"? I had a similar experience with my prior truck - found out the "Tune" had a bug in the patch for the AFR table that only caused the issue when the temps were sub freezing. Once the software patch was fixed the issue went away. ??

You need a scan tool with the capability of re-setting the fuel trims and alcohol density. It is pretty common. Mine was doing the same thing and it's gotten now to where the fuel pump is on its way out. If you can get this done under warranty it would be a real blessing

    Thanks for the tips.
I just got the Blue Driver scan tool but am not savy on it yet.
It’s blue tooth to the smartphone.
Not sure if I can reset things that are whacked.
Not sure if it was tuned but I don’t think so. Seems like a normal V8 truck.
That said, I’m turning into slow go since I retired. No need to be anywhere till I have a need.

Well, took truck to range for requalification 40 miles in snow storm last Friday and check engine and all sorts of messages came up. Drove fine but no cruise control forward crash sensors and no trailer brake controls.
Anyhow, scanned it and had 14 codes misfires to lack of comms. Toyota rolled up with wrecker and been in shop since Friday. Valve stem seals plugs wires plugs and coil pack or three. I have a free loaner and repair and parts all covered…. Hope this is it because my “Oh what a feeling” moment is fading fast.
Won’t be ready till after the new year. Hey all fluids are new and working! Stuff happens and ya got to go with the flow!

Hope you have better luck with the Toyota dealer than I did. A good way to tell if they are lying is if their lips are moving

Ha! Showing my age! Should have said “stuff” instead of wires. How about 8 fire sticks!
Anyhow, estimate to have it back this Thursday. Cab off repair. Thank God it’s all covered…. I really need the truck for mental health. Highlander loner is nice but not for me.
