Revtec leveling kit

    I have revtec 3 inch leveling kit (that’s what it said when I bought my truck) and 33x12.50r18. No trimming at all. What would be a good 3 inch lift the replace the spacers/blocks? I also have rear trd sway bar and OME shocks. When I have to slam on the brakes the truck will give you whiplash and it leans forward and back violently I figure it’s because of the revtec leveling kit


    I researched the leveling kit and as far as I know it is a 2.5inch front and 1.25 inch rear lift. So thinking maybe just doing some front struts to match the 2.5inch lift revtec spacer and that could help the rocking back and forth when braking

    If you are looking on the lower end of the spectrum to just get rid of the spacers, look at the Bilstein 5100's. I think the height setting for those is 2.9 inches. When I refer to the lower end of the spectrum, I'm referring to budget and what you want to spent. The Bilstiens are good, many of the members on here have them for leveling.

    what is your budget? There are some great choices, but budget for lifted coilovers can vary from $500ish to many thousands of dollars.

    Around 500ish would probably be my budget. Or possibly doing the front first and rear later or vice versa. I figure maybe struts on the front would be a good place to start. I think this would help the rock back and forth when hard braking. It is just like the suspension feels so soft or something is why it does that so I though upgrading the suspension would help that? I’ll check out the bilstein 5100’s


    Also I know that there are air bags for the rear of the tundra on Amazon for help in towing. I wonder if those could help the rear?

    for that price, 5100s using your stock coils. Can spend more and get 6112s or the eibach setup. Both cost more than 5100s but are also better.

    Lots written on airbags here, just search. Not a fan of airbags myself, seem like a bandaid. If you are hauling or pulling that heavy where you need them then beefier leaf springs or using a WDH is a better solution.

    One thing I will recommend is installing the trd rear sway bar, cost is low about 250 and it makes a really nice improvement in handling, towing.

    Yeah I have a trd front and rear sway bars and put on rear OME shocks and seemed to help a lot. I’m still just not really all the way satisfied and am looking for a not so expensive solution at the moment. I considered the rear bags anyway for towing but decided against them because I don’t tow anything really big just a 15ft travel trailer. I looked up the 5100’s and see that you use the stock coils. Are the 6112’s a full strut? What is the eibach set up?

    I found front rancho struts for less than 400 but they are a 2.25inch lift and my current is a 2.5inch so don’t think that would work

    I’d only want a full strut assembled for ease of installation

    6112s come with new springs and will ride a little better than 5100. info on eibach offerings- https://eibach.com/us/pro-truck-lift.
    And you know OME offers lifted front coilovers too, they are priced about the same as eibach and would match your rear shocks. Use the "light" suspension for OME, 612s unless you have a heavy winch and bumper. If you have not looked, check out toytec as well, but they will cost a bit more than the 3 I mention there.

    Cant offer any info on Rancho for a tundra, do not know anyone that runs them on a Tundra. I would skip Rancho or Roughcountry and go with known good components that work well on a Tundra. With suspension mods, sometimes paying a few hundred more is well worth the cost in the long run.
