Where is the reverse/backup light switch on the transmission?

    2005, 4wd, 4.7Liter automatic, 289,000 miles, American model, TRD.

I am embarrassed to say that I cannot find the reverse switch on the transmission.

    Here is what is wrong:
The reverse indicator on the dash is always on. Always.
Reverse lights are on when engine is on.
    Engine code 1705.
Replaced the neutral start switch (that was insanely difficult)
Drained 4 quarts of oil, and put in 4.5 quarts.

When battery is disconnected, the code goes away, and transmission shifts like a dream.
Turn off, restart, and code is immediate.
Shifts rough into gear, but operates okay, idle a little erratic.

Bought a new switch, but cannot find it on the transmission.

    HELP!
