Finally got around to replacing the reverse lights with LED bulbs.

Driver side is LED, passenger is oem.

Which bulbs did you use? I have tried two different brands and both fit really lose in the socket.

Ya, sorry, not the best time of day to take pictures oflights. You can see the color temp difference in the pic. The LED is a colder white, the OEM bulb looks yellowish compared to it. Can confirm that the LED's do improve lighting for backing up at night!
Can't even remember, I ordered them off Amazon so far back that they don't even show up in my orders.

I put LEDs in my reverse lights and they do a good job to the sides but not straight back where I need the light. I think reverse lights are primarily a warning to other drivers that the vehicle is backing up. I added 4" pods in my bumper and there is a huge improvement to visibility in reverse.

New 2021 calvary blue CM SR5 owner and was curious if you can just replace the reverse lights w/ LEDs (mine is halogen) without needing any harness or wiring additions for proper use

Yes, absolutely can. LED bulbs just plug in. Takes 5 minutes. Two torx bolts to remove the tail light assembly and get access to the bulbs.

When I had OEM tail lights, I used Sylvania Zevo LEDs and they rocked.

Hardest part is pulling off the tail lamp assembly. Also don't forget the LED bulbs are polarity sensitive, meaning they will light only when installed one way..positive and negative..

yes, tail lights pull away from truck to side to remove, not to the back like you would expect. yutoob a vid to see where the pins are and which way they point.

I just changed out the backup lights. That was easy but when I bought led bulbs for the brake light, the bulb did not fit the housing like the halogen. Way too loose. Curious what brand any of you may have gotten off Amazon for this? Changing out all bulbs. Least I could do after front, rear brakes, shocks, rack pinion and ball joints. Sheessh but 310,000 miles and going strong
