it doesn't need to be perfect but it leaks quite a bit. Has anyone done anything to keep most of the water out? I have a big cargo rack on order to sit on my bed rack so the bed is where the kigs bags need to be for trips etc and inevitable some of those are in the rain. thank you

Where is it leaking? I get barely any water in mine. Do you have it adjusted and tightened correctly?

Gaps at the front or back. Looking from outside the truck at the bed sides, are the rails pulled down and even.
Use a tape measure and check the spacing between the rails, it should be pretty close to even along the length of the bed. Besides that I don't know, the install doesn't consist of much besides lining things up, adjusting spacing, and tightening down so I would think it obvious once you start looking where the leak is.

Did you have a previous cover? The Retrax has foam seals under the rails the will seal along the bed sides, the front has a rubber flap that should be resting on the front bed frame towards the cab. When you open and shut the cover, you shouldn't see gaps between it and the rails. When its fully closed it should be seating pretty nicely against your tailgate.

I had the same trifold. I left the foam gasket on the front of the bed towards the cab and just put the rubber seal on the retrax over that.

did you ever fix the water leak?

mine is leaking as well. I see a few spots where it leaks. Near the tail gate , and on the front where the canister is. It seems to be leaking inside the canister. Where the box collects the water. I guess the canister inside isnt sealed properly. I doubt there is fix to that.

I used this D-seal around the bottom and sides of the tailgate (you have to double up for the top foot or so.) I also put it behind the seal on the Retrax flap against the tailgate to stiffen it up so going through the car wash wouldn’t let high pressure water in. It stays nice and dust/water free.

I would check the two drain hoses to make sure they aren’t blocked with debris. I had one and a blast with the air compressor cleaned it out.

Update - mine doesnt appear to have a gasket (or not much of one) between the cover and the top of the tailgate. I will order some and see how much that helps

@thedonn did you have any luck? I'm curious because I just installed mine and I'm seeing issues at the tailgate.

I'm hoping you can post pictures to save me, and future folks, a little trouble shooting time
