Looking to get this bed cover on my 23 Platinum.

Any feedback on this cover? Is the only difference between PRO MX and PRO XR the outer option to add rails?

I thought there was someone in the forums that worked for them? Please tag them if this is true

    Thanks!

I don't work for Realtruck, but we sell enough of these that I might as well! I can confirm that the difference between the ProMX and ProXR is just the T-slot rails. Everything else is the same. I personally run the ProXR on my truck and plan to do it again on the next one.

We've got most of those covers on the shelf over here at Hotshot Offroad as well so please let me know if we can help!

So I just buy the T slot rails if I want an upgrade?

I was ready to pull the trigger on the Retrax Pro XR myself. Amazon prime day came along and I found the knock off (so I believe) made by Syneticusa. Upon looking at the pictures of them both there was no considerable difference that I could see. There were some slight differences but I had to scrutinize the two pictures to notice anything. About the only difference I could see was the Retrax uses one lock, the Syneticusa uses two.
The Retrax Pro XR manual cover with the T-rails is $2,200, the Syneticusa with the same setup was $850 on Prime Day with free shipping. It's now listed at $950 with free shipping.
I took the chance and bought the Syneticusa. Surprisingly it showed up earlier than expected with some minor shipping damage to one of the endcaps on the t-rails and a slight scratch on one of the t-tails. I wrote the seller through Amazon and got an immediate response. They offered to either send me new parts or provide me with $150 refund. I opted for the refund and in about 3 hours I saw the credit pop up on my Amazon account. Granted it was not a credit to my credit card but getting it back as an Amazon credit was just fine with me. Overall the Syneticusa cost me $700, in case your bad at math that's a savings of $1,500 over the Retrax.
Overall I'm very satisfied with the cover. Took my son on a 3 week camping trip a few weeks ago and stayed at a different campsite every night. We opened and closed that cover at least 5-10 times a day without a problem. The cover uses 4 pretty large drain tubes, one on each corner. In order to make them work properly you'll have to drill the bed, something I wasn't interested in doing just yet. I also bought a bedrug so I didn't notice the water at all, mainly because the bed was full of storage tubs that held the camping gear.

But yes, the side rails are the only difference between the MX and XR. You can even buy the other set if you decide you want to switch for whatever you originally purchased.

I have the Pro XR. I know it is not cheap, but would buy another if it got damaged. Purchased thru Real Truck. The first and second delivery were both damaged, but one phone call got another one shipped and they also paid for the return shipping thru FedEx. Third one had no damage.

If I had to do it all over again, I would not have bought the XR Pro. I’ve had warranty parts swapped on the canister and end cap. Too many moving pieces and things that can go wrong. Luckily, real truck has been good about sending replacement parts

That sucks. I've had nothing but good luck with mine. I did crack a plastic piece on the canister (below the cover) but that was me cramming too much into the bed and I had a ratchet strap pulling things tighter towards the cab. But mine lives outside in the Texas sun and sees all the weather and I've had no complaints. Gotten tons of dirt and crap in the rails and after a few uses they are back to rolling smooth.

Glad you have gotten replacement parts but sucks to hear you had issues.
