I replaced the tires on my 2016 1794 today (Michelin Defenders.) After I dropped the truck off at a well known tire company, I got a call saying that my lug bolts were “swelling.” Now, I’m no metallurgist, but I have been to a rodeo and a couple goat ropings and have never heard of steel bolts “swelling.” Has anyone else got this pitch? Sounds to me like an upsell opportunity that someone dreamed up. I’d hate that the company is stooping to this just to sell a little service (they wanted $140.00) to take care of my problem. I politely (ok, not so politely) declined.
