I have an electrical gremlin with my '07 DC 2wd 5.7. The common thread is the ignition switch so to eliminate it I bought a replacement but I can't get the old switch out.

Do I have to drill out the tamper proof bolts on the column to make room?

Can't find a video of anyone replacing the ignition switch (not the key tumbler). If you know of one please share it.

    Thanks, Art

    Update...

Took it to a shop and he pulled it up on his service manual. Toyota says to drop the whole steering column!!!

Instead he was able to drill and screw extract the tamper proof bolts to get sufficient access. He charged me $40. I'm happy. Hopefully it's the fix for the gremlin.
