Has anyone replaced their bedsides or is a body guy that has done it? I got merged into my drivers side in December. Insurance is fixing it but the body shop is wanting to try to pull the dent and replace the bumper.

I can get a pair of MGM bedsides for $500, which is way cheaper than what the BS would charge to pull the dents. My thought is to replace the bedside and get a CBI or Westin Bumper. This would leave me some money for some other upgrades I've been wanting.

I'm just trying to see if it would be feasible to replace it instead. I understand there are welds holding the besides on, so what else would it entail? Would it be worth it to slap the bumper on and have someone do the bedside?

    Thanks!

If you have the people to do it properly, then I'd replace the side myself, otherwise I'd ask around... I asked the BS who repaired my truck last year, if they could estimate repairing both my bed sides, due to some damage. I was told that it would be better to find a whole bed and swap it in, since the work would be extensive just removing 1 bed side. I have a unicorn as they stated, a long bed, or maybe they didn't want to do the work, but all I wanted was dents pulled on either side and a re-spray, I may just rattle can it myself.

Good luck. There’s nothing wrong with repairing that. They won’t go for it.
