Hi guys, is there an alternative to the ridiculously priced replacement window switches for an 04 Tundra 4 door? $500-$850! Seriously? Surely there is a way around this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve in Tn.

Local junkyard. www.car-part.com is an easy way to locate.

SMP (standard motor products) and Dorman brands are both known for taking over and/or supplying parts to OEMs, so in a pinch if you must have brand new, they're typically a reliable source AS LONG AS you don't buy them on knockoff havens like scAmazon/fleaBay.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Much appreciated. I am just trying to help my grandson out with his truck. He actually found a used one on ebay before I had a chance to even get back to him with the suggestions here. Believe it or not, he has never bought anything from ebay! Through my dealings with vintage motorcycles, I have about 1400 transactions and told him, though it can be a blessing or a curse, it really is a pretty safe way to get things, for the most part. Again, thanks for the help, and have a great holiday.

Most people, and I, will suggest for him to be careful with weebay. A lot of counterfeits have been reported. Like, legit looking OEM, but not.....

You might as well get a timing belt and water pump and do the lower ball joints and have a dope weekend wrenching with the grandson.

Then it would be time for you and your grandson to put a super charger on his truck

Lol,I think he is a way from tackling those projects. He is a great young man who is about a year out of anesthesia school so he has spent most of his life with his nose in a book. But he is very conscientious and wants to learn some basic tinkering. Hopefully we will get into some more technical stuff as time goes on. And, yes, I have warned him about evilbay and its pitfalls. Thanks
