Replaced my 10 year old 5100s today, they were a little over 10 years old, they looked really bad around the perches and the perches themselves, I was worried the perch could fail due to rust.
Used the no compressor method on this set, went pretty well except I have to cut one of the 5100s shaft as the top nut was frozen and I could not hold it, even tried with two pairs of vice grips on the shaft. Another issue was I could not loosen the lower control arm bolts, they were frozen solid, impact gun, breaker bar, they would not budge, not a huge deal as I was going with the same setting on the 5100s, the middle setting, just made removal and install a little harder.
Was surprised functionally the old 5100s seem fine, could test them easily once I removed the coil spring. Short money for piece of mind, I was thinking if one failed it would be a real pain to fix. Here are some pictures, spayed the new ones with Fluid Film.

Proof that Bilstein makes a good product to have survived for 10 years (i'm guessing you live somewhere in the rust belt by the looks of your pictures).

Yeah functionally they were fine, I am in MA, no shortage of salt and calcium chloride on the roads. Rears don't look as bad but my OCD is acting up, having new on the front and old on the back is really bothering me.
