    Hello Sports Fans,

First off, love my '22 Tundra...

So, the dealership replaced my Multimedia screen (the big one) in my truck, just before Christmas, based on a small chip that my wife discovered. It was under warranty... Now the dealership is struggling with initializing the system such that I can re-establish my profile, re-establish the native navigation application and communicate with the Toyota App. We go through the entire process of initializing the multimedia system, and linking to the Toyota App, as is done when the vehicle is new. When we get to the final step in the initialization process, where a QR code is displayed on the screen, and I scan w/ my phone to complete the process, i never get the QR code. Essentially, it appears that my previous initialization/subscription is locked in with the removed screen (and processor) and will not recognize the attempt to re-initialize/subscribe the vehicle with the replacement screen....

    Getting very frustrating...
Has anyone gone through this yet, or have any knowledge pertaining to re-initializing after a MM system is replaced?

My-Man, this sounds exactly consistent with what the dealership just told me... They are coming to take 'er back to shop on Tuesday. Apparently my issue is that the TIS requires that the new MM unit be assigned an ID #, which is then linked to the Truck VIN. It appears that this was not performed when they replaced the MM unit.

I appreciate any additional info when you have time...

I had the same exact problem. The way we finally fixed it was to call Toyota corporate while in the truck. They had to reset database at corporate then add me in as the owner. After that we could walk through the steps with corporate in the truck and set everything up. We hit the red button in the overhead console to get in touch with Toyota Corporate. Good luck.

    Thank you all...
    This is a great forum.

Im sending the full instruction set to my dealership. I'm also informed that Toyota Engineering will be there Tuesday to assist. Pretty impressive!

I went through the same thing it’s a matter of the service tech assigning the screen hardware to the vin and then the QR code should show up

OK, my friends, my issue (described in initial post) is all fixed. Thanks to everyone on here for your help.
    Summary of the fix:
    • When the MM unit was replaced the Toyota Techs at the dealership did not assign a unique VIN to the new MM unit. Apparently they were unaware of this process. I'll give them the benefit of doubt based on the newness factor.
    • The tech expert at the dealership and I, as well as the shop Techs tried several times to cancel my subscription (Toyota connect) and create a new one. Based on the new unit not having a VIN assignment, the system choked on all the subscription attempts and locked me out.
    • In parallel with me providing the instruction set that ryan (see above) provided, Toyota sent an Engineer to the dealership.
    • The final resolution was (1) assignment of a VIN to the new MM unit, (2) coordination with Toyota IT to purge all of the re-subscription attempts and unlock my account, (3) go through the initial process of establishing my Toyota connect account linking my phone to the system
    All is Well!

Love my '22. Averaging ~ 17.6 MPG now. I always use ECO mode on highway

Does this issue help resolve the multimedia head unit to stop disconnecting? I have a '22 tundra also and my bluetooth constantly disconnects itself from the entertainment system...it's so annoying. Kinda wanna upgrade my stock speakers, they are BOOBOO!!! Even on 62, the volume is so low !!
