Tried to do this on my own but realize I shouldn't have-but I don't want to pay a lot to do this. Cheapest $400 in my area.
My main problem is I cannot get in there to do anything. Other post I read said you could do it without removing radiator hose and such, saw video that showed you could as well. BUT my truck looks different from the video and other pic's. I have 7 hoses or lines or wire harness blocking from below as well as sway bar or something. From inside wheel well I can't even get in to pull electrical plug out or get at the other wire nut to remove.
Am I going to have to remove the parts and pieces of radiator and everything else? HELP!!!!

My brother did his about a month ago. He also was not happy but the mechanic he is, it didn’t take him long.

Give us updates on your progress.

Well my progress has been slow to say the least. Every video I have watched will show how it is done but skips the steps that SHOW how it is done. I need to know HOW to reach the two upper bolts of alt.
I have to move power steering pump. I have removed two bolts from that reaching thru the pulley. What else do I need to do to move it out of the way? Also found that water pump needs replaced (leaking fluid obvious sign). Fun stuff! Any help would GREATLY be appreciated!

Ok, so I finally made some great progress. I would recommend to others that if you were to do this job yourself make sure you have the right tools. I had to go to town (2 hour round trip) just for a flexible head ratchet wrench. Most of the videos I watched were good but didn't show HOW they were able to reach in and get at certain bolts. This is what took me the longest to figure out and also worried I would break something further. Also conflicting info on number of bolts power steering unit had and the like.
One tip: Use your camera on your phone to see where you can't get your head up and under and around.
Basically my breakthroughs came when I got mad enough and just started pushing and prying things out of the way in order to get the hard to reach bolts. I did take the radiator out and the fan because of the water pump. I did take the passenger side tire off to gain access to upper bolt on alt.
So now waiting for parts but I did get a couple of estimates on the job had I taken it in or had a mobile guy come and parts and labor were going to be near or over $2,000! So I feel good about doing it myself. Full disclosure: And this is embarrassing...I didn't keep track of the hours it took me but I would say I spent over-oh man now that I think about it I don't want you all to know. My truck has been in the garage for over a week okay! But I don't think about that when I know I saved a lot of money!
    Thank you and have fun!
