Hey! I want to paint my chrome ac vents and the grey door panels but I’m afraid I’ll break them trying to get them off. Is there a pretty simple way to pull them off that I’m not seeing?FAE498DE-65FF-458D-9292-F97019578255.jpg
I’ve already painted some of my interior that I figured out how to pull apart

I painted those small trim pieces around shifter and cup holder too. I like it so much better.
I used vinyl decals for my AC rings and they came out pretty damn good, not worth tearing dash apart IMO.
I also bought black interior door handles since I had chrome.
I haven't painted the silver door trim, I think yours looks good with the silver door handles. There is a thread somewhere here showing how to do that, although this guy may have wrapped his trim piece. Seemed like a bit of a project though.

get some plastic trim tool and try to lift at a corner. Don't force. depending if you have Air bag sensors close by I would disconnect the battery first just in case.

Yes I really prefer the gloss black over the chrome and grey. I’ve been going for a full black and white look. Did you just stick the vinyl on there or use a heat gun as well?

Yeah the doors look like if I push them I can pop them out but I didn’t have the trim tools yet so I didn’t try too hard.

The vinyl just stuck on. You could used some heat and probably stretch them a bit to get full coverage of chrome. Mine cover prettywell, I did on a hot day.

You can get black door handles on Ebay for about $60. Or I have OEM chrome ones I'd sell you cheap if you wanna wrap or paint them?

I was gonna leave the door handles because I figure they’d wear quickly if I painted them. But I actually just found vinyl stickers for the interior to save me from taking the dash apart to paint some. Tvd vinyl decals

Yeah my plan is to cover the long door panels and ac vents and I got the center console area done. I was going to leave the handles, around the radio, and steering wheel just because of wear and ease of removal. A little bit of grey is fine but I definitely don’t want chrome and the more murdered out the better
