Remove ECU connector to work on harness 'B" or am I asking for trouble?

I am working on a HHO install on my 2016 and I need to tap into the signals coming from the two AFR sensors to send to the HHO kit EFIE processor. I can tap them down at the sensors themselves but would rather find those signals in the engine bay and wiring harness.
    schematic shows them here:

this diagram indicates AFR signals go to D74 pins 102,103,125, and 126 using the 'B' harness.
do any of you have experience removing the giant ECU connection and is it likely to cause issues? Is it best to leave sleeping dogs lay? My connector looks ok but the grey plastic lever thing at the top appears to be broken on one side. Is that required to pop the connector off?
