The weatherstripping around my moonroof (mostly the rear edge) has come loose and I'd like to re-glue it so I can open/close/slide the moonroof. I've got it tilted up at the moment.

The repair manual addresses taking out the whole moonroof assembly, which involves taking out the headliner. Which starts out with removing the sill plates... Ugh!

Is there an easy(ish) way to get just the glass panel out so that I can glue the weatherstripping back on? It appears the moonroof is held in by only 4 small bolts.

    Any help would be appreciated!

I’ve definitely removed just the glass on our 4runner moon roof, I think I had to open it partially to get the fronts, then close and tilt to get the rears

Correct, 4 T-25 screws. It will be a challenge but doable unless you can make it go back all the way. I would also recommend cleaning and re-lubing the frame slide mechanism once window is out. I found sil-glyde from Napa was a good lube. Might wanta consider cleaning out the drain lines.
There are numerous utubes you can google but I’m partial to Timmy tool man. He shows how to check the drain lines, location etc in the below video.

    Thanks for those replies.

The roof did go all the way back but not happily. That is how I noticed he weatherstripping has come loose. The moonroof was binding on the way back, and again on the way to closed. I looked up and could see the stripping flopping around.

I'm guessing if I can get the moonroof out, all 4 of the drain hole will be accessible. I haven't had any leaks from the moonroof so far, but prevention is always a good thing.

I'll report back on my success (or lack of success).

Anyone ever figure out a source for the seal/weatherstripping? Mine does its job but I think the fact that it is 18 years old is causing an annoying flapping/wind noise at highway speeds when it is wet. Would love to replace it.
