Hey guys I’m considering buying a 5.7 4x4 Regular cab 8’ bed tundra to haul a slide in camper. Definitely want the long bed for more camper space for my wife, dog, and myself. And to haul construction materials when I’m not camping. Been driving regular cabs for years, don’t need back seats just more cargo space. Used to have a first gen a long time ago loved that thing but want the 5.7 second gen. Don’t trust heavy duty fords, rams, chevys. Thoughts?

Remember when you were little and learning how to walk on your own in public? You always had a direction in mind you wanted to go, but your dad’s hand was on top of your head steering you in the direction he wanted you to go.

That’s sort of what it’s like to drive a half ton with a slide-in camper.

Not sure what the payload is on the door jam for a regular cab but the payloads are garbage on Toyota trucks unfortunately (it’s only 1300 pounds on mine which includes my fatass) most slide in campers start around 1500 pounds although there’s some light ones like alucab which start around 900 pounds but even then that’s iffy for me
