Redline Leather Shift Boot SCREW UP ! !

hey folks,
I ordered a leather shift boot for my new to me, 2020 Tundra from RedlineGoods.com

On their web page they ask you to input the vehicle that what you want ordered - is for .
I did all that and ordered a tan boot.
WELL ,
several weeks later the shift boot arrived. It came WithOut any Directions as to how the boot skirt was to be held in situ.
& &

the Top Opening that fits around the m8 - about 3/8" shift shaft was 2" wide.

I sent them an email w/ 2 photographs.

Well I couldn't be more disappointed in what i received yesterday.
It took several weeks, the tracking link didn't work.
The top opening was 2" across to fit a shift shaft
of m8 or m10 diameter. Your opening was more like 1" diameter +.

this morning and their reply is:

I'm sorry you feel that way. We have no note on your order
about customizing the top size, so the regular size was sent. It
can be easily enlarged by making small vertical incisions
in the middle of the top edge on each side of the seam.

Why would I want a 2" opening to be enlarged.
