    Hi forum members,

    Newbie here.

I've tried to go through a lot of the threads to do with lighting on the tundra, and l've read about the voltage differences, and drl with the led's etc.

I want to keep the stock wiring and headlights, and basically upgrade the bulbs in the headlights and fog lights.

Is there a particular bulb/brand you'd recommend that's none LED and doesn't cause heat issues etc? But has a lot better light output than stock?

Also looking at upgrading the stock head unit to a carplay unit, and was wondering what was recommended, and also if you prefer the wireless units which seem to be a few hundred more at least?

I'm going to have to plug in the phone to charge anyway, and l've read some of the wireless units can have disconnects, so leaning towards the regular wired connection.

Is there a particular brand or model you'd recommend or avoid?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Try Sylvania Bulb Fitter Website. It will ask you some questions and redirect you to stores which sell. Stock Bulbs aren’t great, but will do the basics.

Sylvania is our OEM bulb on Toyota.

Thanks, those Sylvania bulbs had terrible reviews on Amazon, looks like there's not many halogen bulbs out there vs LED these days.

Maybe l need to look at LED instead, recommendations without causing voltage issues etc..?

Any any recommendations for carplay units from the forum?

SuperBrightLEDs.com has some fog light bulbs I really like. I went with Techmax LED headlamp bulbs from Amazon. Great light output with reasonable price. Will need resistors to run with the LED fogs.
For car play, I’ve got an Alpine head unit that automatically connects to my iPhone when they truck turns on. I’d recommend looking at Crutchfield for some options.

I use the Sylvania ultra lights (black and purple packaging). They're not perfect, but they have always worked for me. I will say that they have a much shorter life than the standard Sylvanias. Since they can be easily changed out without any tools, I put a spare in my glove box.

(Camper conversion underway.) Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.
Why would you even consider stock halogen bulbs? With their voltage hogging, heat issues, and poor light output/color, they are technology of the past. Find the bulb sizes on here or the Internet and pick out some LED bulbs off Amazon with good reviews. They are plug-and-play; once you go LED you won't look back.

I've never considered adjusting my headlights either.

2006 models have problems with the LED Lights.

Just installed a pair of Alla LED Swithback fog light bulbs. Alla spec.#H10-SLCSP-12WY. Bought them on Amazon for around $50 bucks. Son-in-law installed a pair on his truck and I was impressed with the brightness of either shade, white or amber.
