DBAFC82A-F996-47D1-8D02-D947875F9072.jpg Ive got a bradley smoker. It works great! Electric, timed cooker and smoker. You basically set it and forget it. I cook pork butt, brisket, ribs and fish all the time.

If you aren't opposed to pellet instead of electric, I'm madly in love with my Camp Chef Woodwind smoker. Way better than my old Traeger.

    I like my masterbuilt 30

Definetly also invest in an AMazen smoke tray for dust (not pellets) I can smoke for 8+ hours without doing a thing. Set temp on electric smoker, fill and light the tray and walk away. So easy.

This is what I mean. I can put meat in the masterbuilt set it and go play golf and come home to smoked meat

I've been extremely happy with my pit boss pellet grill, I also have a masterbuilt 40", but it hasn't been used since I bought the pellet grill. I second getting the a-maze-n tray which ever way you go, I use pellets in mine and can get right at 10 hours of smoke from it.

I've got a basic double wide Little Chief electric smoker. It is 12 yrs old now. My younger brother who is 50 has my single wide Little Chief smoker I got for my 10th birthday in 65. Element is still good. He replaced power cord a few years back. My landlord in Anchorage had 2 double wide Little Chiefs. Smoked lots of Salmon. lots. Relatively inexpensive. Very few parts to break. Not even remotely fancy. Like cast iron. The older it gets the better. Mine is covered with smoke 'patina". Perfect..https://www.amazon.com/Smokehouse-Products-Little-Chief-Smoker/dp/B000ZKZJMY[IMG]

I’ve got a master built. Love it. It has 4 racks, I use 1 as a drip pan. Don’t get a glass door.

Thanks all. A buddy from work has a masterbuilt 30 that he recommends. Doesn't sound too elaborate which is what I'm after. Just something simple to use every now and then.

I'd like to hear more about the Camp Chef Woodwind. I have been looking at the pellet grill with the sear box.

I have a masterbuilt electric that works well but I want to upgrade. Great starter unit.

I bought mine a little over a year ago. 3 year warranty on everything. I got the one with the sear box and it makes amazing, I mean amazing, reverse seared anything...steak, chops, whatever. Has a nice hopper cleanout and holds temps way better than my traeger ever did. It can also run at 500° if you ever needed it for that. It's a solid setup but did set me back about 9 bills. I did get the winter magnetic "blanket" and cover free with my order, along with 20 pounds of pellets. Hopper is dang good size too, it can smoke for an easy 12 hours and not be close to empty yet. Watch their YouTube video too, it's funny as hell.

Not smart enough apparently to embed the video.

Edit : figured it out ha

Yeah the video is hilarious, it is what got me thinking about the grill in the first place. Appreciate the info from a real and local user!

I love all the peeps that do the smokers. I got me a kamado joe classic. After a week of using that I threw my gasser grill off the deck and gave my electric to a nabor. Does everything from 180-700f. I use it at least 4x a week. Now that nabor is one upping me and getting the big joe...and I can’t wait. Here is a recipe I got for red onion jam that goes extremely well with smash burgers. Not a smoker thing, but awesome none the less

You can't go wrong with a masterbuilt electric smoker when dipping your toes into smoking meat. If you narrow it down to one with a window and one without, I wouldn't waste extra money on the window, since after a smoke or two you won't be able to see through it anyway. That being said it isn't one of your options, but have you considered a pellet grill? They are a lot more versatile than a smoker and turn out amazing food.
