    Hey all,
I recently moved to Montana. I have a lifted 2016 Tundra Crewmax. I have 295/70R18s Toyo AT III on the truck now. I love them, but as the temps are dropping we’re getting a lot of ice up here. They’re pretty terrible when it gets icy, and I want to get dedicated snow tires with studs since my truck is the transport for the entire family.

I can’t find anything bigger than a 275/70R18. I’d love to put 285/75R18 snow tires on it, but they don’t seem to exist. Any recommendations for the largest size and brand I could get to maximize my ground clearance?

    Thanks!
    Todd

You are in a crappy tire size for snow tires. If you want a better performing tire in the snow you should check out Cooper AT3 XLT. I just took those off my Duramax and they did well in the snow.

This is coming from a guy that grew up not far from your current location.

I ended up going with a smaller tire. 275/70R18 with the Cooper Snow Claw with studs. I had Copper STT MAXX on my 4Runner and really loved them for summer tires. It won't look cool, however, it'll be highly functional for traction, and I'm only losing 1/2" of ground clearance. Seems worth it when I'm driving around with my wife and kids in the vehicle on slick roads!

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. They are used a lot year round in Western Canada and they are studdabel. They look great and have a nice sidewall as well. Also, if you want specific winter performance I also run Nokian Hakkapelitta LT3. They are the best Winter/ice/snow tire I have used. They are expensive but will last. The Duratrac wont be as good on ice but will help you in the mud more.
