I noticed that even when I hold the recirc button for more than 2 seconds as the manual says, it still automatically goes off and the outside air comes in.
The mornings lately have been a little cold so I like shutting off the outside air. It's annoying when it goes off. There are also some areas I drive through that smell bad too so I shut it off then.
How can I check this button? I followed the instructions in the manual:
"If the ambient temperature drops, the air intake mode will automatically change from RECIRCULATE to FRESH after a few minutes. This automatic change control mode can be cancelled by pushing and holding the button for longer than 2 seconds."
This does not work. It's like 3 to 5 minutes later the vents open.

It's really annoying on a cold day when I don't really want to run the fan. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. PITA.

Doesn't work when in defrost. Any chance that is what you are seeing?

No I’m on head and foot, I think it was what was posted above and there’s nothing I can do about it since I’m in a cold climate now.

I've tried every setting and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It the flakiest system I've ever encountered.

Did you ever figure out what to do? This happens to every winter.

I have to push and hold mine for 5-10 seconds for it to stay on.
