Recent Apple car play issues 20 Sequoia

Recently got a new iPhone 16 and been having some intermit issues making calls through car play. Thought the last software update would help but still having issues. Everything else's seems to work fine. Does the factory head unit ever need a software update? If so, is there away way to check the firmware and update myself?

I found members having similar issues in Tundras...I bought the wireless adapter on this thread and fixed my issues! So far it's worked very well, especially for the price point.

Had the same issues. Just replaced my OEM with a Pioneer and it works great. It had gotten to the point where I couldn’t take work calls in my truck
