Received Second FOB w/o Physical Key

Just a note to save some potential worries. I bought my 2024 TRD Pro in February, and went to the dealer yesterday to program/receive the second key fob. Half hour wait; not bad. They gave me the key in a small plastic bag, and when I got home discovered the physical key was missing. Searching on this wonderful forum I discovered the second physical key was something I received back in February, and had promptly forgotten about ! Fortunately I had placed it in a location with other spare keys.....

 

Yep, my dealership put my second physical key in the owners manual packet.

 

That's funny. Same thing happened to me. I looked in my safe and I did in fact have the second key.

 

My dealer had the second key on another key ring attached to the fob. He made it clear that it was for the second fob when it came in and that the fob would not have a key.

 

Yep, same. I think some folks are forgetting they received the second physical key because Toyota is playing this game and taking forever to give people their second fob. I'm getting tired of Toyota's horrible mismanagement. When are they going to axe this CEO because he's running the company into the ground. Poor quality, "parts shortages", and the kicker, terrible customer service. This dude hit the trifecta. Problem is, it's the wrong one.

 

Same here. It’s in an envelope in my nightstand. Waiting on my second remote. Hopefully on my 5K service in three weeks.
