So, took my 2018 SR in for its' first ToyotaCare free service (oil change, tire rotation). Unfortunately, there was a pretty bad accident close by and the power went out in a rather large area that included my dealership. Luckily, my Tundra wasn't stranded up on a rack, so I was able to bail.

BUT, before the outage, the service writer came in the lobby and asked for my approval to also perform a recall. She said it was "a software update that affected the sensors".

That's all I really know at this point. I figured I would have the details in my paperwork to share with y'all, but the power outage squashed that idea. Just thought I'd share...

    Thanks,
    Wally

Hmmm, called them and asked (their power is back). Woman at least tried to be very helpful. Here's what I got:

1 - It is called JOX recall (I was thinking it was like NHTSA recall, but doesn't seem like it)
2 - It is for a "Sensor Software Update"
3 - She said something about the airbag.

Sorry, I was trying to write as she was talking. Hope I'm not just muddying the waters.

Yep.. also affects the 2019 models. I had mine done 3 days after purchasing it. Takes about 1.5 hours to do according to the tech that did mine.
It's a software update for the center (I think) airbag not deploying under certain conditions.
There are a couple of threads here on it.
